Thercon-LHP loop heat pipes can become the solution for problems of thermal control of high performance processors thanks to the unique properties of the LHP

The ever increasing heat dissipation of PC components reduce reliability, productivity, and working life, thus hindering the development of multicore systems.

Advantages of LHP application in PC cooling systems:

  • multicore systems scattering up to 100 W and more;

  • servers in rooms where high noise levels are unacceptable (due to the ability to completely get rid of fans);

  • industrial and compact personal computers;

  • assembly of high-performance systems (replacement of a regular cooler).

Thercon-LHP loop heat pipes can become the solution for problems of thermal control of high performance processors thanks to the unique properties of the LHP:

  • high heat transfer capacity (heat transfer distance up to 2,000 cm, transferred power up to 2,000 W);

  • compactness, adjustablility, light weight;

  • low heat transfer energy consumption (passive element);

  • any orientation in space (low sensitivity to gravity);

  • noiselessness;

  • high reliability and extended working life;

  • stable operation in a broad range of temperatures (from -50ºС up to +100ºС)

  • no scheduled maintenance required.

Thercon-LHP cooler vs. conventional heat pipe cooler

Thercon-LHP AC-2 cooler shows better characteristics compared with ICE HAMMER 4400A in terms of maximal heat power and density, longitudinal heat flux density, compactness and weight, with both coolers being in the same price range.

Noiseless PC cooling system

A noiseless computer without fans, where heat sink is carried out through a single copper-water loop heat pipe, has been working in Thercon-LHP lab for more than 8 years trouble free. The construction involves a LHP transferring heat from CPU to a lightweight radiator dissipating the heat into the environment due to natural convection. For more intense heat sink, LHP radiator sections can be installed on both lateral and top surfaces of the PC case.
