MAIN IDEA: to provide higher density for data-centers with minimal CAPEX for infrastructure of cooling and power suuply

 

LHP-based cooling systems are very efficient, they are reliable and noiseless, and they fit perfectly into systems with tight component packing.

LHP advantages compared to conventional heat pipes:
  • high heat transfer capacity (heat transfer distance up to several meters, transferred power up to several kW);

  • low energy consumption (due to passive heat sink);

  • compactness, adjustablility, light weight;

  • high level of reliability and working life of aerospace technologies;

  • effective operation at any orientation in space;

  • noiselessness;

  • no mechanically moving elements;

  • stable operation at temperature extremes;

  • no scheduled maintenance.

Loop heat pipes together with air and water cooling can be used to remove heat from heat-stressed components in servers and supercomputers. Such combination boosts effectiveness, lowers costs and improves safety of cooling systems.

Free cooling with LHP does not require additional cooling of working fluid used to cool servers. In the external circuit working fluid with inlet temperature of 45-50°C can be used.
